As It Happened: GAA senior club championship action

Fourteen county senior finals formed part of a hectic schedule of local GAA action today. Here’s how the action unfolded.

It was a huge day of GAA club action around the country as hurling and football championships reached critical stages in various counties.

We were keeping an eye on how it all unfolded.

The All-Ireland senior championships may have concluded last weekend with Kilkenny’s hurling final replay victory over Galway but the focus now switches to club action. It’s a huge day around the country with fourteen county finals down for decision and crunch games in the concluding stages of other championships as well. We’ll endeavor to keep you up to date with all the action.

The hurling deciders today are in Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Kildare, Offaly, Roscommon and London. While the football county finals take place in Wexford, Wicklow, Louth, Cavan, Sligo and Leitrim.

We’re going to be focusing on certain games today. The Mayo senior football semi-finals are on in McHale Park in Castlebar with Ballintubber and Crossmolina just underway at 1.30pm while Knockmore face Ballaghadereen at 3pm. Elsewhere in football, there is a huge game in Healy Park in Omagh at 3.30pm with Tyrone senior final being contested by Errigal Ciaran and Dromore.

In hurling the Limerick county final will feature Kilmallock against Adare in the Gaelic Grounds at 3.30pm while in Cork it’s the meeting of Sarsfields and Bishopstown in their decider in Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 3.45pm. And in Tipperary the senior hurling semi-finals see Thurles Sarsfields face Éire Óg-Annacarty at 2pm in Semple Stadium, followed by the clash of Drom-Inch and Loughmore-Castleiney at 3.3opm.

A quick recap on the main talking points from yesterday’s club games. In Munster, divisional outfit Duhallow qualified for the final of the Cork senior football championship last night with a 0-13 to 0-7 victory over O’Donovan Rossa in Páirc Uí Rinn. While reigning champions Kilmurry-Ibrickane drew by 0-9 to 1-6 in their semi-final against Kilrush Shamrocks in the Clare SFC in Doonbeg.

In Leinster there will be new senior football champions in Kildare with Carbury defeating Athy in yesterday’s semi-final by 0-15 to 0-12. In Carlow it was a comfortable SFC semi-final success for Éire Óg against O’Hanrahan’s by 3-11 to 0-7. And in Dublin there were four 4th round games down for decision with St Brigid’s getting the better of Thomas Davis by 2-12 to 1-8 while St Sylvester’s defeated St Oliver Plunkett’s-Eoghan Ruadh by 1-13 to 2-6. There were two draws as well in the capital as it finished 2-14 apiece between Templeogue-Synge Street and St Pat’s (Palmerstown) while it ended Kilmacud Crokes 0-14 Ballyboden St-Enda’s 2-8 in their clash. Both those replays will take place Wednesday night in Parnell Park.

Tipperary SFC 2nd round: FT – Arravale Rovers 1-12 Moyle Rovers 1-11: An interesting early result from the Premier county today as Moyle Rovers, who won the title in 2007 and 2009 and were also defeated in last year’s decider, have been knocked out of this season’s competition by Arravale Rovers. It took a late point by Timmy Dalton to clinch success for Arravale Rovers. They had trailed by 1-5 to 0-6 at the interval to a Moyle Rovers team that featured Tipperary attacking legend Declan Browne but the winners fought back in the clash at Cahir with county senior defender Robbie Kiely striking a crucial second-half goal.

Mayo SFC semi-final: 15 mins – Crossmolina 0-4 Ballintubber 0-3: It’s Crossmolina who are making the early running in Castlebar against Ballintubber, who are bidding for a third successive title but must cope without their injured attacking star Cillian O’Connor who dislocated his shoulder last weekend. Peadar Gardiner and Ciaran McDonald amongst the early point-scorers for Crossmolina.

North Tipperary SFC final: FT – Thomas McDonagh’s 0-15 Fr John Kenyon’s 0-10: Elsewhere in Tipperary, the reigning senior football champions Thomas McDonagh’s progressed with a five point victory in their divisional final earlier today. The combination outfit had lead by 0-10 to 0-3 at the break and they were in front by 0-13 to 0-7 with ten minutes left. They now go on to the county knockout stages.

Mayo SFC semi-final: 28 mins – Crossmolina 0-6 Ballintubber 0-4: Alan Dillon has just popped over a free for Ballintubber to cut the deficit to two points approaching the interval.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: Thurles Sarsfields 0-1 Éire Óg-Annacarty 0-1: Early stages in the first Premier senior hurling semi-final in Semple Stadium between the warm favorites Thurles Sarsfields and surprise outfit Éire Óg-Annacarty.

Mayo SFC semi-final: HT – Crossmolina 0-6 Ballintubber 0-4: It’s Crossmolina in the ascendancy at the midway mark in the first semi-final in McHale Park against the reigning champions Ballintubber. They hold a two-point advantage but suffered a setback before the break with attacking talisman Ciaran McDonald after limping off with an injury.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 9 mins – Thurles Sarsfields 1-4 Éire Óg-Annacarty 0-3: The first green flag of the game has been raised by Thurles Sarsfields Denis Maher, a county U21 player this year, after Éire Óg-Annacarty had earlier lead by 0-3 to 0-1.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 18 mins – Thurles Sarsfields 1-5 Éire Óg-Annacarty 0-6: The underdogs have bounced back well from the concession of that goal to Denis Maher with Padraig O’Dwyer displaying good marksmanship in front of goal.

Clare SFC semi-final: 18 mins – Doonbeg 0-2 St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield 0-2: All square during the first-half of the clash in Milltown-Malbay.

Mayo SFC semi-final: Latest – Crossmolina 0-8 Ballintubber 0-4: Crossmolina have started the second-half brightly with Cathal Carolan amongst their point-scorers.

Early drama in the Kildare senior football semi-final with St Laurence’s having a penalty from Sean Fahey saved by Sarsfields goalkeeper Patrick O’Sullivan.

Mayo SFC semi-final: Latest – Crossmolina 0-8 Ballintubber 1-5: Big comeback by Ballintubber with John Duffy finding the net to draw level despite the dominance Crossmolina have been exerting.

The midway juncture has been reached in the first SHC semi-final in the Premier county in Semple Stadium with Denis Maher’s goal proving the crucial score in keeping Thurles Sarsfields ahead as they lead by 1-11 to 0-10 against Éire Óg-Annacarty.

Kildare SFC semi-final: 13 mins – St Laurence’s 0-3 Sarsfields 0-1: St Laurence’s have made the early headway as the two teams seek to meet Carbury in the Lilywhites senior football decider.

Clare SFC semi-final: HT – Doonbeg 0-3 St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield 0-3: All square at the interval in Milltown-Malbay. Yesterday’s semi-final between Kilmurry-Ibrickane and Kilrush Shamrocks ended all square, could a second replay be on the cards?

Mayo SFC semi-final: 56 mins – Ballintubber 1-6 Crossmolina 0-8: Danny Geraghty edges Ballintubber in front with a fine point as they have overcome a four-point deficit to move in front.

Mayo SFC semi-final: 59 mins – Ballintubber 1-7 Crossmolina: Alan Dillon notches his fourth point of the game to extend Ballintubber’s advantage.

Laois SFC semi-final: Latest – O’Dempsey’s 0-2 Arles-Kilcruise 0-1: Early stages in the first of the semi-final double-header in O’Moore Park in Portlaoise.

Mayo SFC semi-final: FT – Ballintubber 1-7 Crossmolina 0-8: Ballintubber keep their three-in-a-row dream alive with substitute John Duffy’s goal proving crucial in the second-half. They trailed by 0-6 to 0-4 at the interval and by 0-8 to 0-4 entering the last quarter but the champions finished strongly.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 39 mins – Thurles Sarsfields 1-14 Éire Óg-Annacarty 0-11: The accuracy of Johnny Enright in front of goal is enabling Thurles Sarsfields to create an advantage on the scoreboard.

Roscommon SHC final: Latest – Four Roads 0-5 Padraig Pearses 0-4: It’s Four Roads, who are chasing a fifth successive title, that are in front in the decider in Athleague.

Kildare SFC semi-final: HT – St Laurence’s 0-5 Sarsfields 0-5: All square at the midway mark at Hawkfield.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 50 mins – Thurles Sarsfields 1-20 Éire Óg-Annacarty 0-11: Thurles Sarsfields have really stepped it up in the second-half. After leading by four points at the interval, they are now 12 points clear and on course to qualify for the county final.

Clare SFC semi-final: 45 mins – St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield 0-6 Doonbeg 0-4: Last year’s beaten finalists have gained control in the second of this year’s semi-finals in the Banner county in Milltown-Malbay.

Mayo SFC semi-final: 10 mins – Ballaghadereen 1-3 Knockmore 0-1: Dramatic early start in the second semi-final at McHale Park with Joe Dillon firing to the net in a boost fora Ballaghadereen team who are without county star Andy Moran through injury.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 60 mins – Thurles Sarsfields 2-22 Éire Óg-Annacarty 1-13: Aidan McCormack has fired home a second goal for Thurles Sarsfields while Michael McGrath has just netted a consolation effort for Éire Óg-Annacarty.

Kildare SFC semi-final: 37 mins – St Laurence’s 0-7 Sarsfields 0-7: Still delicately balanced in Hawkfield between 2009 champions St Laurence’s and 2005 champions Sarsfields.

Laois SFC semi-final: HT – Arles-Kilcruise 0-3 O’Dempsey’s 0-2: It’s been a low-scoring opening half in O’Moore Park.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: FT – Thurles Sarsfields 2-22 Éire Óg-Annacarty 1-13: It’s all over in Semple Stadium with Thurles Sarsfields qualifying for their ninth Tipperary SHC final in thirteen years.

Laois SFC semi-final: 47 mins – Arles-Kilcruise 0-7 O’Dempsey’s 0-3: Arles-Kilcruise are starting to take control in Portlaoise.

Kildare SFC semi-final: 52 mins – Sarsfields 1-9 St Laurence’s 1-8: Alan Smith has found the net for Sarsfields while Ronan Lawlor has grabbed a goal for St Laurence’s. 

Mayo SHC final: FT – Ballyhaunis 1-14 Tooreen 0-16: County senior footballer Keith Higgins was part of a Ballyhaunis team that claimed success.

Wexford SFC final: Latest – St Anne’s 1-2 Castletown 0-1: Early stages in the Model County decider with Mark Furlong finding the net for St Anne’s and Redmond Barry also impressing for them.

Clare SHC final: FT – St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield 0-7 Doonbeg 0-6: Last year’s beaten finalists have qualified for the decider again with Ivor Whyte hitting the winning point for St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield in Milltown-Malbay. They will face either Kilmurry-Ibrickane or Kilrush, who drew yesterday, in the final.

Mayo SFC final: HT – Ballaghadereen 1-6 Knockmore 0-6: Joe Dillon’s early goal separates the sides at the interval. Aidan Kilcoyne has been outstanding for Knockmore, registering all of their six point total.

Limerick SHC final: 11 mins – Adare 0-3 Kilmallock 0-2: Keenly contested start to the clash in the Gaelic Grounds with Willie Griffin just after knocking over the free that edges Adare ahead.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 10 mins – Drom-Inch 0-5 Loughmore-Castleiney 0-1: Seamus Callanan and Seamus Butler have been amongst the point-scorers as last year’s champions Drom-Inch are making the early running in Semple Stadium.

Limerick SHC final: 15 mins – Adare 0-4 Kilmallock 0-3: Declan Hannon and Paudie O’Dwyer have swapped points as Adare remain ahead.

Offaly SHC final: 11 mins – Kilcormac/Killoughey 1-0 St Rynagh’s 0-3: Ciaran Slevin fired home the opening goal of the game for Kilcormac/Killoughey.

Kildare SFC semi-final: FT- Sarsfields 1-11 St Laurences 1-9: It will be Sarsfields against Carbury in the Lilywhites decider after Sarsfields claimed a two-point victory in Hawkfield.

Roscommon SHC final: Padraig Pearses 1-13 Four Roads 0-16: It’s finished all square in Athleague and a replay will be needed to determine who will lift this year’s title.

Latest in the Wexford SFC final with St Anne’s making the early running as they lead by 1-6 to 0-3 against Castletown while in Omagh in the Tyrone SFC final it is 0-2 apiece between Dromore and Errigal Ciaran.

In the Laois SFC semi-final it has finished in a 0-11 to 0-7 success for Arles-Kilcruise against O’Dempsey’s. St Anne’s lead by 1-6 to 0-4 in the Wexford SFC final at half-time against Castletown.

We’ll turn attention to the key club hurling clashes now. In the Offaly SHC final it is St Rynagh’s who lead by 1-5 to 1-3 against Kilcormac-Killoughey with Diarmuid Horan (St Rynagh’s) finding the net. In the Tipperary SHC semi-final in Semple Stadium, Drom-Inch continue to lead the way against Loughmore-Castleiney as they hold a 0-9 to 0-5 advantage after 23 minutes.

Tyrone SFC final: 28 mins – Errigal Ciaran 0-5 Dromore 0-2: It is Errigal Ciaran who are in control at the moment against the reigning champions Dromore.

In the Limerick SHC final it is evenly-balanced with Adare, for whom Declan Hannon has been excellent, just ahead by 0-7 to 0-6 against Kilmallock in the Gaelic Grounds. Further south in the Cork SHC final it is Sarsfields who lead by 0-3 to 0-2 against Bishopstown after 11 minutes.

Half-time in the Sligo SFC final and Curry lead St Mary’s by 1-7 to 0-8. In the Leitrim SFC final the latest is Melvin Gaels ahead by 1-4 to 0-4 against Glencar-Manorhamilton with James Phelan finding the net. And in the Wicklow SFC final at the interval it is all square, St Patrick’s 1-4 Baltinglass 0-7.

Latest from the Cork SHC final and underdogs Bishopstown are making the headway with a 0-6 to 0-3 lead over Sarsfields after 17 mins. At the interval in the Limerick SHC final in the Gaelic Grounds, Adare are in front against Kilmallock by 0-8 to 0-6. And in the Tipperary SHC semi-final, it is Drom-Inch who lead Loughmore-Castleiney by 0-10 to 0-7.

Offaly SHC final: HT – St Rynagh’s 2-8 Kilcormac-Killoughey 1-7: The Banagher-based club St Rynagh’s enjoy a four-point advantage at the break with Gary Kelly firing home their second goal before half-time.

Cork SHC final: 22 mins – Bishopstown 0-8 Sarsfields 0-5: And Bishopstown, appearing in their first ever county senior decider, are continuing to be in the ascendancy on the scoreboard in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

In the Tyrone SFC final it is Errigal Ciaran who are in front by 0-5 to 0-3 at the break against Dromore. While in the Mayo SFC semi-final Ballaghadereen enjoy a 1-10 to 0-9 lead over Knockmore with four minutes remaining. And in the Wexford SFC final Redmond Barry has raised St Anne’s second green flag of the game to push his team into a 2-7 to 0-6 lead against Castletown.

Cork SHC final: 29 mins – Bishopstown 0-9 Sarsfields 0-7: Michael Power sends Bishopstown into a two-point lead with Denis Crowley very influential in attack for the city club.

In the Kerry SHC final Ballyduff enjoy a 1-5 to 0-5 lead at half-time against Lixnaw. After 1o minutes of the Kildare SHC final Confey enjoy a 1-3 to 0-4 advantage against Celbridge. While in the early stages of the Laois SFC semi-final it is Portlaoise who are leading by 0-3 to 0-1 against St Joseph’s.

At the interval in the Cork SHC final Bishopstown are in an excellent position as they lead by 0-9 to 0-7 against Sarsfields in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. John McGrath has opened the scoring in the second-half for Loughmore-Castleiney and they now trail in the Tipperary SHC semi-final by 0-10 to 0-8 against Drom-Inch.

Mayo SFC semi-final: FT – Ballaghadereen 1-10 Knockmore 0-10: Joe Dillon’s first-half goal for Ballaghadereen proves crucial in propelling them to a final meeting with Ballintubber despite the excellent efforts of Aidan Kilcoyne up front for Knockmore.

In the Tyrone SFC final an Eoin McCusker point in the 37th minute has pushed Dromore into a 0-7 to 0-6 lead against Errigal Ciaran while in the Cavan SFC final replay a Barry Reilly free has edged Kingscourt Stars into a 0-4 to 0-3 lead in the first-half against Mullahoran.

In the Limerick SHC final it is Adare who lead by 0-9 to 0-8 in the early stages of the second-half against Kilmallock while Noel McGrath has smashed home a crucial goal from a penalty for Loughmore-Castleiney against Drom-Inch in the Tipperary SHC semi-final, to put them in front by 1-8 to 0-10.

Goal for Kevin Grogan for Kilcormac-Killoughey in the Offaly SHC final propels them into a 2-13 to 2-9 lead against St Rynagh’s in Tullamore. In the Laois SFC semi-final Portlaoise are in complete control as they enjoy a 1-8 to 0-1 lead against St Joseph’s while in the Tyrone SFC final Errigal Ciaran have drawn level at 0-7 apiece against Dromore thanks to a point from Peter Harte.

Limerick SHC final: 40 mins – Adare 0-11 Kilmallock 0-10: Eoin Ryan and Kevin O’Donnell have just raised white flags for Kilmallock after Declan Hannon and Wayne McNamara had earlier landed points for Adare.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 49 mins – Loughmore-Castleiney 1-12 Drom-Inch 0-13: A John McGrath pointed free puts Loughmore-Castleiney ahead by two points entering the finale.

Sligo SFC final: 48 mins – Curry 1-12 St Mary’s 1-10: Stephen Coen finds the net from the penalty spot for St Mary’s to reduce the deficit.

Wexford SFC final: FT – St Anne’s 2-14 Castletown 0-8: St Anne’s win their first final since 2001 with a comprehensive success as county senior Redmond Barry gave an inspirational display.

Limerick SHC final: 48 mins – Kilmallock 1-12 Adare 0-11: Jake Mulcahy grabs a crucial goal for Kilmallock and that’s 1-4 without reply now for the 2010 champions.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: 55 mins – Drom-Inch 1-14 Loughmore-Castleiney 1-13: Seamus Callanan has found the net for Drom-Inch to help them move into a narrow one-point lead in Semple Stadium.

Tyrone SFC final: 56 mins – Errigal Ciaran 0-11 Dromore 0-8: Darren McDermott fires over a point to put Errigal Ciaran three points ahead.

Cork SHC final: 40 mins – Bishopstown 0-12 Sarsfields 0-11: Bishopstown still ahead by a narrow margin against 2010 champions Sarsfields.

Cork SHC final: 45 mins – Bishopstown 0-12 Sarsfields 0-12: Daniel Kearney grabs the levelling point for Sarsfields.

Offaly SHC final: FT – Kilcormac-Killoughey 2-16 St Rynagh’s 2-12: A historic first senior hurling crown claimed in the Faithful County for Kilcormac-Killoughey.

Sligo SFC final: FT – Curry 1-16 St Mary’s 1-10: A six-point success for Curry who triumph for the first time in six years.


Tipperary SHC semi-final: FT – Drom-Inch 1-18 Loughmore-Castleiney 1-18: Eddie Connolly rescued Loughmore-Castleiney as he fired over the point that sends the match into extra-time.

In the Cork SHC final it is Cian McCarthy who has notched the point that nudges Sarsfields into a 0-13 to 0-12 lead against Bishopstown. In the Kerry SHC final Ballyduff defeated Lixnaw by 1-15 to 1-9 while in the Limerick SHC final Kilmallock are still leading late on against Adare by 1-14 to 0-15.

Cork SHC final: 54 mins – Sarsfields 1-13 Bishopstown 0-13: Robert O’Driscoll has bagged a vital goal for Sarsfields after excellent work by substitute Eoin O’Sullivan with Patrick Cronin just replying with a point for Bishopstown.

Limerick SHC final: FT – Kilmallock 1-15 Adare 0-15: Kilmallock hold off a late challenge from Adare to win their second title in three years with Jake Mulcahy’s second-half goal the crucial score.

Cork SHC final: 57 mins – Sarsfields 1-15 Bishopstown 0-13: Sarsfields moving into a strong position entering the closing moments.

In the Wicklow SFC final St Patrick’s hold on for a 1-12 to 0-14 victory over Baltinglass while in the Leitrim SFC final Melvin Gaels are champions after beating Glencar-Manorhamilton by 2-7 to 0-7.

Cork SHC final: 61 mins – Sarsfields 1-15 Bishopstown 1-13: Late goal for Bishopstown by substitute David Hickey.

Cork SHC final: FT – Sarsfields 1-15 Bishopstown 1-13: But Sarsfields hold on to lift their third title in five years.

Cavan SFC final: 50 mins – Kingscourt Stars 0-7 Mullahoran 0-6: It’s tight and tense entering the finale in the Cavan final replay in Kingspan Breffni Park.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: Drom-Inch 2-20 Loughmore-Castleiney 1-19: A goal from substitute Jamie Moloney has put Drom-Inch ahead by four points at the halfway stage of extra-time. Loughmore-Castleiney are down to fourteen men after Liam Treacy was sent-off.

Across the water in the London SHC final there was success today for St Gabriel’s as they overturned Kilburn Gaels by 1-14 to 2-8.

Latest score from the Louth SFC final has St Patrick’s ahead of Dreadnots by 1-8 to 0-5 while in the Laois SFC semi-final it’s been all too easy for Portlaoise as they are currently ahead by 2-14 to 0-2 against St Joseph’s.

All over in the Kildare SHC final as Confey defeated Celbridge by 1-16 to 0-14 and thus denied Celbridge a fifth successive senior hurling crown.

Cavan SFC final replay: FT – Mullahoran 1-8 Kingscourt Stars 0-7: A dramatic victory for Mullahoran with Philip Brady’s late goal proving crucial in helping them to success.

Clare SHC quarter-final replay: HT – Cratloe 1-5 Kilmaley 0-4: Cathal McInerney’s goal has proved crucial in helping Cratloe to a half-time lead in Cusack Park.

Tipperary SHC semi-final: FT – Drom-Inch 2-26 Loughmore-Castleiney 1-21: The reigning champions advance to the Tipperary senior hurling final against Thurles Sarsfields but needed extra-time before staving off the challenge of Loughmore-Castleiney.

Clare SHC quarter-final replay: Latest – Cratloe 2-5 Kilmaley 0-7: Another goal from Cathal McInerney helps Cratloe stay in front.

Louth SFC final: FT – St Patrick’s 1-13 Dreadnots 0-7: St Patrick’s retain their senior football title in the Wee County with a nine-point final victory.

Clare SHC quarter-final replay: Latest – Cratloe 3-8 Kilmaley 0-9: Cathal McInerney has completed his hat-trick of goals for Cratloe.

The full-time scores in today’s Kilkenny SHL Group 1 ties are Dicksboro 0-18 Graigue-Ballycallan 0-15; James Stephens 1-12 Erins Own 0-11 and O’Loughlin Gaels 0-16 Carrickshock 0-16.

And in today’s four Donegal SFC first round games (2nd leg), the results were St Eunan’s 1-12 Kilcar 0-10; Glenfin 2-9 Bundoran 1-11; Ardara 0-11 Four Masters 1-7; Glenswilly 2-9 Gweedore 0-7.

Clare SHC quarter-final replay: FT – Cratloe 3-13 Kilmaley 1-9: Colin Lynch raised a late green flag for Kilmaley but Cratloe, thanks to a hat-trick of goals from Cathal McInerney, held on to triumph. They advance to a semi-final meeting with Inagh-Kilnamona while it will be Clonlara against Newmarket-on-Fergus in the other semi-final tie.

It’s been a hectic day of GAA club action around the country. Here’s the main outcomes from the four provinces, starting with Munster.

CLARE – Cratloe advanced to semi-finals of the SHC with a 3-13 to 1-9 win over Kilmaley while St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield clinched their spot in the SFC final with a 0-7 to 0-6 semi-finalvictory against Doonbeg.
CORK – Sarsfields claimed their third SHC title in five years when they got the better of Bishopstown by 1-15 to 1-13.
KERRY – Ballyduff are county senior hurling champions after they defeated Lixnaw in the final by 1-15 to 1-9.
LIMERICK – Kilmallock won their second SHC title in three years with a 1-15 to 0-15 win over Adare.
TIPPERARY – The county SHC final will be contested by Thurles Sarsfields, 2-22 to 1-13 semi-final winners over Éire Óg-Annacarty, and Drom-Inch, 2-26 to 1-21 semi-final winners over Loughmore-Castleiney. In the county SFC, Arravale Rovers defeated Moyle Rovers by 1-12 to 1-11 while Thomas McDonagh’s won the North Tipperary SFC with a 0-15 to 0-10 final win over Fr John Kenyons.

In Leinster:

KILDARE: Sarsfields advanced to face Carbury in this year’s SFC final with a 1-11 to 1-9 win in today’s semi-final against St Laurence’s. While in the county SHC final, Confey got the better of Celbridge by 1-16 to 0-14.
LAOIS: Portlaoise will face Arles-Kilcruise in the SFC final on October 21st. Portlaoise trounced St Joseph’s in their semi-final by 2-17 to 0-4 while Arles-Kilcruise were 0-11 to 0-7 winners over O’Dempsey’s.
LOUTH: St Patrick’s are county senior football champions after a 1-13 to 0-7 success against Dreadnots.
OFFALY: Kilcormac-Killoughey got the better of St Rynagh’s by 2-16 to 2-12 against St Rynagh’s in today’s SHC final.
WEXFORD: St Anne’s are this year’s SFC champions after they defeated Castletown by 2-14 to 0-8.
WICKLOW: St Patrick’s lifted the SFC title crown with a 1-12 to 0-14 win over Baltinglass.

In Connacht the key talking points were:

LEITRIM: Melvin Gaels were victorious in the SFC final by 2-7 to 0-7 against Glencar-Manorhamilton.
MAYO: Ballintubber will face Ballaghadereen in this year’s SFC final. Ballintubber got the better of Crossmolina by 1-7 to 0-8 in their semi-final tie and Ballaghadereen triumphed by 1-10 to 0-10 in their semi-final clash with Knockmore.
ROSCOMMON: It finished all square in the SHC final – Padraig Pearses 1-13 Four Roads 0-16.
SLIGO: Curry were crowned SFC champions as they defeated St Mary’s by 1-16 to 1-10 in the final today.

Finally in Ulster the main outcomes were:

CAVAN: Mullahoran are the county senior football champions when they claimed a 1-8 to 0-7 final replay success against Kingscourt Stars.
TYRONE: And Errigal Ciaran toppled Dromore in the county senior decider with a 0-13 to 0-8 win in today’s decider.
