POLL: Which was the best goal of these crackers by the Mayo minors last Sunday?

We can’t decide which of these sublime strikes was the best.

THE PHRASE WHIRLWIND start took on a new meaning in Castlebar last Sunday when Mayo faced Roscommon in the Connacht minor final.

Fans who streamed into Elvery’s MacHale Park early for the curtain-raiser were treated to two sensational goals as the Mayo minors laid the foundations for an eventual 3-7 to 1-10 triumph.

First up there was this rocket to the net from Mayo corner-forward Darragh Doherty after a superb pass from distance by full-back Sean Conlon in the 6th minute.

And then Mayo full-forward Liam Irwin popped up three minutes later with a couple of outrageous dummies before unleashing a powerful drive to the roof of the net.
