MAYO MANAGER JAMES Horan wasn’t hanging around for long after his county’s shock win over Dublin at Croke Park yesterday.

The game’s final 20 minutes were enough to put a lid on a lot of over-exuberance which could normally follow such a landmark victory for rank outsiders.

Mayo led Dublin by 10 points with 20 minutes to go, but in the end, just hung onto a score-line of  0-19 to 0-16.

“Delighted and relieved, I suppose are the two words that spring to mind,” said Horan of the Jekyll and Hyde performance.

“We got through it and we showed good character at the end and got a few good scores. Look, we’re delighted to get through and we’re looking forward to the next three weeks.”

And of those crucial next three weeks before Mayo get another bite at an All Ireland final, this time against a trend-setting Donegal side, Horan added:

“We’ll just head away and we’ll work hard and prepare for game five. That’s what we’ve done all year, whoever (the opposition) is – we’ll just work on our game and make sure we’re ready.”
