CFC played terrible tactics. Drogba was the worst offender that night. They did anything bar play football.

Ovrebo that referee was an absolute joke we should have had 3 clear penalties in that game nothing given how many times did barca need to handball/foul in the box before something was given i think they thought it was GAA

I should say I don’t support either team. I just remember Chelsea being denied a lot towards the end of the match. It’s just something that popped into my head when I read the article, I’d have to look at the footage again to see the incidents.

Chelsea did anything bar play football last season too but still won the CL.

I thought of that match as soon as i heard this story too Shane. Don’t think i’ve ever been so suspicious of match fixing at the top level as the day i watched that match. I’d never seen anything like it – 4 penalties turned down, 3 absolute stonewalls. That must be the CL match involved.

I think you’ll find that most of the players involved aren’t top level players at all but more likely are low earning professionals in the lower leagues because they are easily motivated by the bribes where as bribing say a Rooney or someone would take a lot more money which the riggers don’t need to spend.

You’d think so, Fergal, but when the likes of John Terry do stupid things like charging for a stadium tour, for relatively trivial amounts of money (to them), then you have to wonder.
