RTÉ SPORTS COMMENTATOR and presenter Marty Morrissey has today been confirmed as the organisation’s new Gaelic Games correspondent.
Morrissey joined RTÉ in 1994, specialising in all matters GAA, and has since worked on a number of their biggest sports productions, including the Olympics, Pro-Box Live and of course, the station’s flagship Gaelic Games programming.
He has also worked on Countrywide and The Mooney show on RTÉ Radio 1.
Morrissey studied at University College Cork and taught for four years at St Joseph’s Secondary School, before working with the now defunct local TV station Cork Multi-Channel in 1988. He also had stints at Clare FM and WH Smith’s Lifestyle Channel, prior to joining RTÉ.
In addition to his new position, he will continue in his role as a GAA commentator for RTÉ Sport.
