MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE sent Bohemians FC an inscribed crystal cup as a thank you to their staff and supporters for their clean-up efforts of the Liam Whelan bridge after it was vandalised with graffiti in April.

The bridge is name after one of the Busby Babes who lost their lives in the Munich Air Disaster in 1958. Whelan, from Cabra, was 22-years-old when he died in the crash.

Ed Woodward vice chairman of United thanked Bohemians for the ‘act of kindness and solidarity in football’.

Speaking to TheScore.ie, Bohs’ strategic project officer Daniel Lambert said that

It was a fantastic gesture to receive. The cup arrived over yesterday morning accompanied with a personal letter from Ed Woodward expressing the gratitude of the United fans.”
