MEDIA OUTLETS L’EQUIPE and Sky Sports are reporting that Manchester City are to be fined £50m for breaching the UEFA fair play financial rules.
The regulation breach has led to a stiff fine, payable over three years, and a limit on the club’s Champions League squad next season. City will only be allowed to select a 21-man squad for the competition next season.
The Premier League club, who are currently favourites to win the title, are contesting the charges. A full ruling, the details of fines and conditions, should be announced later in the week.
