Luis Suarez gets 784 points in Fantasy Football after technical glitch

The error was later rectified and the Uruguayan was awarded a meagre but respectable total.

WHILE I CURSED Rafa Benitez for resting Juan Mata [my Fantasy Football captain] until 16 minutes from time against QPR last night, other users of the online football management competition were having a better time of it.

Fantasy football users that had Liverpool’s Luis Suarez logged onto their accounts to discover their teams were having a bumper week.

The Uruguayan scored twice and set up Raheem Sterling for the opener in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Sunderland.

Suarez was awarded three bonus points as well but the maths went haywire and he was listed [see below] as having 784 points.

Fantasy Football screengrab.

If, like TheScore.ie’s Paul Fennessy, one had Suarez as your captain then Suarez netted 1,568 points.

The current overall FF leader has 1,353 points [as of this morning] so any team with Suarez in the mix were set to be flying high.

The website was alerted to the discrepancy, however, and fixed the technical glitch.

Suarez’s haul for Gameweek 21 is now a respectable but not stratospheric 16 points.

Players with Raheem Sterling in their starting XI had an even bigger surprise as the young midfielder was credited with 1,303 points.

Sterling’s neat lob put Liverpool 1-0 up and he was awarded two bonus points but his 56th minute substitution meant he finished with eight FF points.

This was also corrected by not before one user took to Twitter to celebrate his 1,999 points haul.
