Louis van Gaal will be named Man Utd manager next week - reports

The Holland boss will take over after the World Cup.

OLD TRAFFORD CHIEFS will appoint Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal as David Moyes’ successor in the coming days, according to reports in the British press.

The Daily Mail‘s Ian Ladyman writes that the favourite for the job will be announced as the next Man Utd manager after the club’s game with Hull City.

The 62-year-old will take over after Holland’s World Cup campaign.

It is not yet know what role interim boss Ryan Giggs and the so-called Class of 92 group who — Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and  Phil Neville — will take in the new regime.

What do you think of the appointment?

Giggs’ time will come, but not yet…………the job could of swallowed him up. Van Gaal is one of the few managers in world football who can come to a huge club and have the balls to expect full control and kick everyone up the hole..just what Utd need right now.

Bayern? maybe. Barca? no he didn’t. He got sacked 6 months into his second spell in charge in January 2003 with Barcelona only 3 points above the relegation zone. That came after failing to get a very talented Holland team into the 2002 World cup. Thanks to McAteer of all people.

Two notable achievements you missed, the development of the Ajax setup in the early ’90′s and AZ Alkmaar winning Everdivisie in 2009.

If this is correct then it seems United have a real problem with someone on the inside leaking information to the press, same as with Moyes sacking this is all over the papers before the club has even said anything…

It almost seems like United’s marketing team is doing their very best to make sure united stay relevant in the papers after such a woeful season. I’m a united supporter and I worry that the club is acting in such an unprofessional manner.

the title is a knighthood bestowed upon a man of the realm of Great Britain by the monarchy of Great Britain for services rendered to Great Britain, so the title of sir is only relevant in Great Britain, ur idea of respect sounds like servitude to me m8 calling someone sir wen ur serving them sumtn is called manners and is the edict required for serving sum1 if u are so enclined to use class distinctions such as sir and madam

Personally I would’ve preferred kloop or Simeone, both young and upcoming managers with a proven track record but after moyes’ reign of terror anyone will be a step forward

Was always going to be tough for Moyes following after one of the greatest managers in football in Sir Alex but I think Van Gaal will bring big improvements and excellent experience and won’t take any crap from the players. A kick up the arse from him won’t do any harm.
