Aston Villa 1-2 West Brom (full-time)
Bolton 0-2 Sunderland (full-time)
Newcastle 1-0 Wigan (full-time)
Liverpool -v- Norwich, 5.30
Wolves 2-2 Swansea (full-time)
We’ve already had drama at Molineux, with Wolves coming back in the last six minutes to draw 2-2 with Swansea. Danny Graham – with his third goal in three games – and Joe Allen had put Brendan Rodgers’ side ahead. Just when it seemed Wolves couldn’t come back, though, Kevin Doyle and Jamie O’Hara came good..

Keep an eye on the Riverside Stadium in the Championship, where Derby striker Mason Bennett starts up front at the age of 15 years and 99 days.
They’re under way – West Brom are looking sharp at Villa Park. Shane Long starts up front for the Baggies, having become the focal point of Roy Hodgson’s attack. He’ll be giving Richard Dunne kittens…
Villa should have the lead! Barry Bannan shoots and the ball is deflected to Darren Bent. The striker – normally so deadly – shoots over from eight yards…
Meanwhile, Mohamed Diame has a penalty shout for Wigan against Newcastle but it isn’t given. The unbeaten Magpies have started poorly…
Bannan has his shooting boots on for Villa but his shot goes inches over the bar. West Brom look a bit shellshocked – Villa could be 2-0 up! But they’re not.
Connor Wickham, starting in the Premier League for the first time for Sunderland, shoots wide – much to the amusement of the Bolton fans.
Long has been down injured for a couple of minutes after a challenge by Alan Hutton. Phil Dowd said it was a good tackle but it did seem dodgy to us…
A 12-yard volley by Hugo Rodallega draws a fantastic save from Tim Krul as Wigan continue to threaten.
Shane Long has had to go off, replaced by Somen Tchoyi. Hutton has since been booked but not for that tackle. He should have walked.
Penalty at Villa Park! Ben Foster brings Gabby Agbonlahor down – or does he? No card anyway. Darren Bent to take it – he scores his third of the season! Finally a goal in the 3pm kick-offs…
Thank you OptaJoe: ‘Only Wayne Rooney (46) has scored more Premier League goals than Darren Bent (44) since August 2009. Lethal.’
Penalty for West Brom! Something is spotted by the linesman and Chris Herd is sent off for Aston Villa even though it was Dunne that gave away the penalty with a handball. Seemingly. Very mysterious…
…and Chris Brunt puts the penalty wide! Awful spot-kick but partial justice for ten-man Villa.
It’s 1-1 at Villa Park! Jonas Olsson heads past Shay Given from a Chris Brunt corner..
Bolton and Sunderland have decided to stop being terrible at football for 15 minutes. Scoreless at half-time.
And the break comes at St James’ Park where Demba Ba and Leon Best have not been able to get past Ali Al Habsi and company.
Permission for a cup of tea? Don’t mind if I do. Back shortly with the second half…
Sunderland go on the attack with Sessegnon but a combination of Boyata and Wheater keep the Black Cats out. Moment of the match so far!
Demba Ba comes close to giving Newcastle the lead over Wigan but the tremendous Al Habsi will not be beaten. Wonderful save.
Nothing to do with the football, but here’s one for those who have been wondering who ‘yer man at the front gate at Trinity is…’
Paul Scharner leaves Given with no chance! The Austrian scores from eight or nine yards to put the Baggies in front and it’s well deserved. Aston Villa 1-2 West Brom.
Liverpool team…
There’s a chance for Wigan as Rodallega storms down the right to collect a long pass from Boyce, but the Colombian slams his effort into the sidenetting.
A chance at the Reebok as Sessegnon tries to beat Jussi Jaaskelainen at his near post, but the Finn makes the save…
Sunderland are making bits of Bolton. Connor Wickham – excellent in the second half – lashes in a shot that beats Jaaskelainen but not the crossbar. Far better second 45 minutes.
Sessegnon scores for Sunderland! Finally, finally, finally we have a goal at the Reebok and Bolton’s mini-revival appears to be short-lived. Sebastian Larsson swings in a corner. Paul Robinson is unable to clear the danger. The ball falls to Sessegnon and he turns and shoots quickly – goal!
Yohan Cabaye scores his first goal for the Magpies, making the most of his opportunity after being set up by fellow Frenchman Sylvain Marveaux.
Brilliant by Victor Moses who drifts past two Newcastle players but there’s nobody on the end of his cross…
Bolton’s Darren Pratley finds himself with a great chance but Simon Mignolet, the Mackems ‘keeper, reads it brilliantly and saves.
Another goal at the Reebok, and it’s another for Sunderland! As the Trotters pile the pressure on, Sessegnon breaks and plays in his strike partner. Joy for the former Arsenal man!
It’s all over at the Reebok! Bolton have now lost seven or their last eight games…
West Brom have referee Phil Dowd to thank, as the sending off of Chris Herd had a direct impact on their 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park. The Baggies are up to 11th in the league and showing signs of their early season best. Meanwhile, the Wigan fans are heading for the exits as the club seems set to sink to the bottom…
Brighton have the worse defence in the league brillent going forward 6 1 wow villa fans be so happy
Watch Brighton free fall down the table. Overrated. Ferguson likewise. Never touched the ball in 45 minutes. Apologies for any burst bubbles.
@Ray Ridge: lol
@Ray Ridge: Ferguson not fully fit and he not overrated he is 18 top talent
@Ray Ridge: I love this. Lads commenting pure muck. Brighton are a top 8th team at best. Yet they are 5th and lads label them overrated. Haha talk about zero ball knowledge.
Hopefully that bubble has burst a bit, was getting sick of hearing the hype around Brighton lately
