QPR v Wigan (16.10)

Hello, and welcome to this afternoon’s liveblog. We’ll be focusing on Liverpool v West Ham, while keeping an eye on developments elsewhere in the Premier League.

Here are the teams for the game at Anfield:

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Jose Enrique, Gerrard, Lucas, Downing, Henderson, Coutinho, Suarez. Subs: Jones, Assaidi, Sturridge, Coates, Suso, Shelvey, Skrtel.

West Ham: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Tomkins, Collins, O’Brien, Diame, O’Neil, Vaz Te, Nolan, Jarvis, Carlton Cole. Subs: Henderson, Collison, Maiga, Taylor, Pogatetz, Chamakh, Potts.

And here are the teams for Tottenham v Everton, which we’ll also keep you updated on:

Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen, Sigurdsson, Parker, Dembele, Holtby, Dempsey, Adebayor. Subs: Friedel, Huddlestone, Naughton, Livermore, Assou-Ekotto, Ceballos, Carroll.

Everton: Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Mirallas, Heitinga, Gibson, Barkley, Osman, Anichebe. Subs: Mucha, Jelavic, Oviedo, Naismith, Hitzlsperger, Stones, Duffy.

There’s just been a well-observed moment’s silence in commemoration of the Hillsborough disaster.

And now we’re underway…

Luis Suarez has already needlessly given the ball away twice.

Are we about to witness a rare bad performance from the Uruguayan? (Cue: a Suarez hat-trick.)

Coutinho gets Liverpool’s first shot on target following a swivel and decent shot from outside the box that Jaaskelainen nonetheless saves with relative ease, diving down to his right and gathering the ball.

Seconds later, Suarez delivers a pinpoint cross to Gerrard, who can’t quite connect with his volley.

It’s been pretty much all Liverpool possession-wise in the opening stages.

However, West Ham have defended extremely well so far, with James Collins among others getting some vital blocks in.

Glen Johnson looks perplexed after going down in the box having pushed the ball past Joey O’Brien.

However, replays show that there was minimal contact if any.

Stewart Downing looks like he’ll have to come off early owing to an injury he seems to have picked up.

Daniel Sturridge is getting ready to come on in his stead.

Luis Suarez tries an ambitious snapshot from distance, but his effort goes well wide. He’s looked off form so far.

Diame wriggles his way through the Liverpool defence before blasting just over.

Sturridge is now on for Downing..

As I type, clever link-up play between Suarez and Coutinho enables the former to shoot from about 10 yards out, but the keeper gets down well to make the save.

Cheeky as ever!

Liverpool continue to look the more likely side to open the scoring, but West Ham have defended doggedly throughout.

Surely though, this relentless pressure will eventually take its toll on the Hammers.

GOAL FOR TOTTENHAM!

Adebayor has opened the scoring after just 30 seconds for Spurs against Everton.

We’ll hopefully have the video of that goal for you shortly.

Great last-ditch block from Joey O’Brien to prevent a dangerous Gerrard cross.

The defending from the visitors is looking increasingly desperate, it must be said.

Suarez takes a quick corner, catching West Ham unaware, but the keeper does well to save Sturridge’s subsequent shot from close range.

The half-time whistle blows, and the announcement that Everton are 1-0 down gets the biggest cheer of the afternoon from the home support.

HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 WEST HAM

GOAL FOR EVERTON!

Jagielka has equalised in a game that could have vital ramifications for the Champions League race.

Here are the teams for Paolo Di Canio’s first game as manager for Sunderland:

Chelsea: Cech, Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Luiz, Bertrand, Ramires, Mikel, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Ba. Subs: Turnbull, Lampard, Torres, Ferreira, Marin, Terry, Benayoun.

Sunderland: Mignolet, Bardsley, Kilgallon, O’Shea, Rose, N’Diaye, Gardner, Larsson, Sessegnon, Johnson, Wickham. Subs: Westwood, Graham, Colback, Mangane, McClean, Mandron, Laidler.

And we’re back underway at Anfield…

Liverpool continue to have the better of the game in terms of territory.

However, West Ham have maintained the laudable discipline they showed in the first half.

Gerrard produces another dangerous cross following a surging run, but Demel does well to divert the ball away from goal.

Jarvis gets past Carragher but Agger then makes a great interception.

Down the other end, Gerrard’s side-footed shot is cleared off the line after being set up by Suarez.

End-to-end stuff at the moment.

Here’s a look at the two goals so far in the other game being played:

Suarez beats the defender and drills the ball across the box, but there’s no one in the vicinity to touch it in.

Meanwhile, Matt Taylor has replaced Kevin Nolan and Jack Collison comes on for Ricardo Vaz Te.

Joey O’Brien has been handed the captain’s armband.

HALF TIME: TOTTENHAM 1-1 EVERTON

Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge touches in a Gerrard cross, but he’s correctly adjudged to be offside.

This game continues to be paid at a frantic pace.

It’s one of the most eventful 0-0 games there’s been in a long time, and it certainly doesn’t have an end-of-season feel to it, even though both sides have little to play for seemingly.

Gerrard has just been denied what looked a clear penalty as he turns the ball past Tomkins in the box and goes down under his challenge.

The defender claims he touched the ball and the referee agrees with him, evidently.

In addition, Assaidi has replaced Henderson for Liverpool.

The teams for the Newcastle-Fulham game:

Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Yanga-Mbiwa, Steven Taylor, Santon, Marveaux, Cabaye, Sissoko, Gutierrez, Cisse, Gouffran. Subs: Elliot, Williamson, Anita, Bigirimana, Ameobi, Obertan, Campbell.

Fulham: Schwarzer, Riether, Hangeland, Senderos, Riise, Manolev, Karagounis, Enoh, Duff, Ruiz, Berbatov. Subs: Etheridge, Frimpong, Richardson, Hughes, Rodallega, Frei, Emanuelson.

This game is still very open.

With five minutes left, either side look capable of winning it.

As I type, Collison’s header from a corner has been cleared off the line from Lucas.

The Brazilian hasn’t had the best of games, but he made a goal-saving intervention there.

FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 WEST HAM
