Cork 1-25 Tipperary 2-15 (FT)

15.55 – Hello, and welcome to our liveblog of the second NHL semi-final of the day.

15.56 – Here are your teams:

CORK (SH): D Óg Cusack; S O’Neill, S McDonnell, C O’Sullivan; S Óg Ó hAilpín, E Cadogan, W Egan; J Gardiner, L McLoughlin; J Coughlan, P Cronin, N McCarthy; L O’Farrell, P O’Sullivan, P Horgan.

TIPPERARY (SH): B Cummins; C O’Brien, Padraic Maher (Capt), M Cahill; T Stapleton. C O’Mahony, D Young; B Maher, J Woodlock; G Ryan, N McGrath, P Bourke; S Bourke, B O’Meara, J O’Brien.

16.07 – In case you missed it, we’ve already covered the first NHL semi-final today. You can find all the details here.

16.12 – I’m told the game will throw-in at 4.15pm, rather than 4pm, which was originally the plan.

16.16 – And we’re underway…

16.18 – A Pa Bourke point has given Tipperary the perfect start.

16.20Gardiner strikes it over following good interplay to bring Cork level.

16.21Pa Bourke, with the help of a strong breeze, strikes a free over the bar, to restore Tipp’s advantage.

16.25Horgan puts Cork in the lead for the first time in this game following a lovely flowing move , after Egan’s free brought them level.

16.27 – Another well-executed free from Pa Bourke levels the scores again. No one else has scored for Tipp yet.

16.28 – Neither side has really got a grip of this game yet, and it’s as even as the score suggests.

16.30 – A wonderful point from McCarthy from distance to put Cork back in the lead.

16.32 – A Horgan free doubles Cork’s advantage, before Tipp respond immediately with a point.

16.36 – Donal Óg Cusack has unfortunately had to go off with an injury, and the Cork goalkeeper is replaced by Anthony Nash.

16.39O’Sullivan gives Cork a three-point lead.

Jimmy Barry Murphy’s men have done well so far, especially given that they’re playing into the wind.

16.41Pa Bourke, probably the player of the game so far, has just brought his side to within a point of a Cork, with a superbly executed strike from distance.

16.44Pa Bourke scores another free, with a little help again from the wind. His accuracy both from frees and general play has been incredible so far.

16.48 – A Patrick Horgan free brings the sides level for the umpteenth time.

The first-half has been a lesson in free-taking from both sides, with Horgan and Bourke looking impressive for their respective sides.

16.50

(A die-hard Cork fan preparing for the game earlier – INPHO/Donall Farmer)

16.52 – Egan hits a 65 well wide. Perhaps the wind was to blame there.

However, McCarthy subsequently gets a well-taken point following good work from Egan.

16.55O’Meara brings Tipp to within a point of Cork, and he then earns a free, which Pa Bourke duly converts with ease.

16.56FULL-TIME: CORK 0-10 TIPPERARY 0-10

16.58 – Donal Óg Cusack’s injury is “not looking good” apparently, according to Cork selector John Crowley.

17.00 – So it’s half-time and the sides are as evenly matched as the scoreline suggests.

Cork, though, will probably be the slightly happier team at half-time, given that they’ve arguably played the better hurling and are playing with the wind in the second half.

17.10 – The second half has begun, and O’Farrell immediately registers a point for Cork, before Ryan responds swiftly for Tipp.

17.11 – News has emerged that Cork goalkeeper Donal Óg Cusack may have torn his achilles, which would result in a long-term injury unfortunately.

17.13 – This is turning into a real battle, and it’s almost impossible to predict a winner at the moment.

Meanwhile, Horgan has put Cork ahead with another free.

17.15

The latest on Cork captain Donal Óg Cusack is that he could potentially be out for the remainder of the year sadly.

17.16 – William Egan has just missed another 65. He hasn’t been quite as clinical as some of his colleagues.

17.18 – As Patrick Horgan gets yet another point from a free, an attendance of just over 15,000 is announced at Semple Stadium today.

17.19GOAL FOR TIPPERARY!

17.22O’Meara shows great strength to evade his marker and hammer it home for the first goal of the game.

17.24Anthony Nash has just scored a point from his own half.

The goal has really set the game alight, and Cork have shown great character to respond in such a positive manner.

17.26O’Farrell swivels away from his marker, before scoring an excellent point, to give Cork a one-point advantage.

17.27GOAL FOR TIPPERARY!

17.28Eoin Kelly scores another goal for Tipp, with a powerful free from roughly 20 yards out.

17.30 – Tipp are undoubtedly on top at the moment, as goalscorer Eoin Kelly strikes over another free.

17.31 – A brilliant finish from Luke O’Farrell from a difficult angle, following a well-worked Cork move.

17.34 – Substitute Conor Lehane has just extended Cork’s advantage from a free.

17.36 – A beautifully taken score from McCarthy emphasises Cork’s growing dominance in this game.

17.39Pa Cronin scores for Cork, before an O’Meara point gives them something to think about.

17.41 – A beautifully struck point from Conor Lehane, who has looked very impressive since he came on.

17.43 – A point from another substitute, Darren Sweetnam, adds to Cork’s advantage. It looks like Cork have this game wrapped up.

17.46 – Great stop by Anthony Nash from Eoin Kelly’s free, to confirm his side’s victory.

17.47FULL-TIME: TIPPERARY 2-15 CORK 1-25

17.51

17.57 – Alright, that’s it from me. Thanks again for reading, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
