Limerick senior hurlers celebrate as part of winning horse racing syndicate

Sassaway triumphed in the first race at Down Royal on Saturday.

THE GOOD TIMES keep going for some of the Limerick senior hurlers.

After their recent victory over Tipperary that sees them go forward to contest next month’s Munster senior hurling final, three members of John Allen’s side are now celebrating horse racing glory.

Defender Gavin O’Mahony and the attacking duo of Shane Dowling and Sean Tobin are all part of the ‘Liiimerick Syndicate’ which owns Sassaway.

And they were celebrating a win for the Eamonn O’Connell trained horse, with jockey Declan McDonogh on board, in Down Royal on Saturday.

It was the third win in succession for Sassaway after success at Tipperary on May 2nd and at Down Royal on May 31st.
