WHERE THE REST of the football world saw the archetypal petulant, overpaid pro, David Brewster, the vice-chairman of Northern Irish second tier side Limavady United, saw an opportunity.
After hearing of Roberto Mancini’s declaration that tantrum-throwing Carlos Tevez would never again play for Manchester City, the enterprising Derry executive faxed a transfer offer to the Premier League giants:
“Pursuant to the well publicised comments of your manager yesterday evening to the effect that Carlos Tevez would not be permitted to play for your club again, may I on behalf of Limavady United FC indicate our willingness to assist you with a difficult problem…“We would be perfectly willing to take Mr Tevez on loan for the remainder of the season or until transfer, thereby permitting him to play football but without the risk of being cup-tied for the Champions League.”
Though Limavady have, according to the BBC, yet to receive an official response from City, they’ve already set about preparing for the Argentine’s arrival. Rory McIlroy tweeted a picture the club’s newest mural.
Forget about the money for a minute, though; surely the key question is whether or not Limavady is closer to Argentina than Manchester?
If he hates living in “uncultured” Manchester he’ll kill himself in Limavady.
Worth a try sure.
Having a laugh!lol
Premiership players act like spoilt brats. No offence to Limavaddy but perhaps shipping him off to them, or at least threatening to might focus his mind a little.
What’s a Limavady?
I hope they do send him. It might teach him a lesson.
Carlos may have no choice until the January transfer window.
Class….
In fairness there are worse clubs in Ireland he could go to! Hollister in Ballina, County Mayo would be waaaaaaaaaaaay worse!!!!!!
I think he was right not to go on. The game was lost. It was fairly cold and them Germans looked very strong at the back. He obviously assessed the situation and made a well balanced decision that his introduction would have little or no positive impact on the game and so made the professional, executive decision not to bother his bollix!
The man got balls putting in that request
Tevez himself said he wanted too go on but Mancini insisted in another warm up…
Ah that’s brilliant, Fags dues to him for even thinking of it never mind actually doing it. Brilliant.
funny very good
