TÁINISTE MARY COUGHLAN has announced 200 new jobs for Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

US health insurer UnitedHealth Group is to expand its existing operations in the town. The Fortune 100 company currently employs 340 people processing medical claims, as well as working as IT technicians.

The new jobs will be in the same areas and will be filled by the end of the year.

Coughlan said the company’s decision to locate in Ireland is due to the availability of highly-skilled staff in the region.

US Vice-President of Operations, Jim Becker, said it was ‘a proud day’ for the Group.
