WITH ALL THE hype and expectation surrounding the Lions tour in Australia it’s easy to forget that rugby is not a game of life and death.
The most ground-shaking, heartbreaking moment in the game this season was not Kurley Beale’s slip or Ireland’s Six Nations it was the September night in Hillsborough when Nevin Spence, his father and brother died tragically on the family farm.
“Lest we forget” that, this band of Ulster fans have this flag with them in Melbourne tonight and reporter Claire Glancy tweeted the image to the masses.
Lovely sentiment for a great loss. Still a pity they couldn’t get the flag right and have it on the Ulster Flag to represent the Provence he played for instead of the flag of Northern Ireland who don’t have a rugby team.
