THIS AFTERNOON’S DELAYED meeting at Leopardstown, featuring the Lexus Chase, has been given the go-ahead.
Although any remaining snow on the track had already been cleared, there was a threat of waterlogging, but there was no significant overnight rainfall in south Dublin, which gave course officials much heart upon inspecting the Dublin circuit at 7.30am, according to PA.
Irish Turf Club press officer, Cliff Noone, said: “There was no great amount of rain overnight – certainly not a deluge – and the ground soft to heavy.”
And there is more much-needed good news for racing fans, as Limerick has also passed a 7.30am inspection and will go ahead as scheduled.
Course officials found the track to have fully defrosted following an assessment of conditions this morning.
The going there is said to be soft to heavy.
