IT HAS BEEN a busy day at SSE Airtricity League Premier Division club Sligo Rovers with a number of players coming and going.
Recently-appointed Bit O’Red manager John Coleman is looking to put his stamp on the current squad in the hope of turning around what has so far been a disappointing season and several changes in personnel have been made.
Former Cameroon international Joseph Ndo, who has been with Sligo since 2010 and is their most experienced player, joins Limerick on loan until the end of the season while midfielder Kieran Djilali will also move to the Blues a year-and-a-half on from arriving in the League of Ireland.
“We’re delighted to get Joseph on board,” new Limerick boss Martin Russell said. “He has come to Limerick as a player/coach so he will have responsibility on the coaching side of things as well.

“He will be a valuable asset to us. He will not be available this week through injury but hopefully we will see him in a Limerick shirt as soon as possible.
Joseph has a lot to add on the playing end too. He was very interested in coming here and he’ll be very valuable to us and will be very good for the players around him.
“He has been one of if not the best player in the league in the last decade and we’re all looking forward to working with him when we get back on the training field on Thursday.
“Kieran has also come to us from Sligo. He’s an exciting, attacking player and it all augurs well for us. Kieran is in contention for Friday’s game against Shamrock Rovers.”
Meanwhile, Iarfhlaith Davoren returns to the club after a brief spell with Cork City.
“I know Iarfhlaith’s attributes and he will be a good addition here,” said Coleman. “He knows the club and he’ll be keen to make a contribution.
“Joseph hasn’t played a lot of games this year and hasn’t featured under me. He has been a great player at the club and he’s a deep thinker of the game so I think he feel he needs the move at this point.”
“I wish Kieran all the best, we are going a different direction and we wish him well.”
Whoops!

Heading in the opposite direction is Ross Gaynor, who has signed for the Rebels having parted company with Sligo earlier this week.
The 26-year-old wide man told CorkCity.ie: “John (Caulfield) gave me a call yesterday and everything moved very quickly. I am delighted to be here and I am looking forward to the game on Friday. Hopefully I can just work hard and get into the team.”
“It is a tough-working team and there are some really quality players. It is going to be a joy to be a part of this team, pushing for a league and the cup as well. Turner’s Cross is probably my favourite stadium in the league, so it will be great to play there regularly.”
Well that was snooze fest of an article..I really want to get into the LOI but I find it boring really, nothing to excite, got a little excited about the euro runs but that was it..feel bad for everyone involved as the top brass don’t give a rats about it, wish I got the same buzz watching a LOI club as I do Liverpool, I know ‘foreign league blah’ but just being honest..
Get down to a game if you can before the end of the season. Should be a bit more exciting than transfer deadline day, which is never going to be on par with that of the EPL. Was the Euro games that got me into it but took me a while to actually go to a game.
