8-in-a-row still on for Portlaoise after mammoth second half comeback

Graiguecullen and Arles-Kileen also booked their place in the final four today.

AN ASTONISHING SECOND half fightback from Portlaoise powered them into the Laois SFC semi-finals today. The winners of the last seven county titles were 1-9 to 1-3 down to Portarlington at half-time but a second half blitz saw them run out eight point winners by a score of 4-11 to 1-12.

They will face O’Dempsey’s in the semi-final.

Second half rampages seemed to be the order of the day in Laois, with Graiguecullen producing a similarly dominant display in the second 30 to beat Killeshin 3-13 to 1-11.

It looked like anything but a rout at half-time as Killeshin actually lead by 0-8 to 1-4. Graiguecullen will face Arles-Kileen in the semi-final after they beat The Heath by 0-14 to 0-12.
