Kingston drafted in to Laois attack for clash with Donegal

Justin McNulty has made one change from the team that beat Wexford last Saturday.

DONIE KINGSTON HAS been drafted into the Laois team for tomorrow’s crunch All-Ireland Round 4 qualifier tie against Donegal.

Throw-in for the game in Carrick-on-Shannon is 5pm and Justin McNulty has selected Kingston at full-forward for the game.

Kingston was named to start last week in the victory over Wexford but was replaced shortly before throw-in by Evan O’Carroll.

Young attacker O’Carroll, who lined out for the county minor side this year, retains his place up front.

The player to make way for the inclusion of Kingston is David Conway.

Kingston’s presence adds greatly to the Laois attack as he hit 0-8 in their three games against Louth in the Leinster championship and against Carlow and Clare in the All-Ireland qualifiers.

Laois have nine survivors from the side that lost out to Donegal by 2-11 to 0-16 in the Division 2 football league final in 2011 in Eoin Culliton, Mark Timmons, Peter O’Leary, Darren Strong, Padraig Clancy, John O’Loughlin, Ross Munnelly, Billy Sheehan and Colm Begley.

While Donie Kingston and Kieran Lillis both came on as substitutes in that game two years ago in Croke Park.

LAOIS: Eoin Culliton (Timahoe); Paul Begley (Stradbally), Mark Timmons (Graiguecullen), Peter O’Leary (O’Dempsey’s); Darren Strong (Emo), Kieran Lillis (Portlaoise), Padraig McMahon (Ballyroan Abbey); Padraig Clancy (Timahoe), John O’Loughlin (St Brigid’s); Ross Munnelly (Arles-Kilcruise), Billy Sheehan (Emo), Colm Begley (Parnells); Conor Meredith (O’Dempsey’s), Donal Kingston (Arles-Killeen), Evan O’Carroll (Crettyard).
