A whole career built on a lie and cheating – it’s sad really and a disgrace to drug free sports people
It was great that he did all his charity work and even survived cancer – but that work was done on his name built on fraud

He didnt do it all on his own, there were people who aided and abetted, doctors, team mates, team staff, governing bodies, jouralists, publishers,and some of them have come clean of their own accord, and if LA wants to make a clean break then he needs to become a ‘supergrass’ and open it all up or else he is just manipulating people again with Oprah his carefully chosen eejit this time.

He is a cheat , he is a liar but he was the reason that $500 m was raised for charity. Dare I say it.. ying and yang and all that. Competitive sports have it everywhere…. and wait for it but many more will be caught in future with retrospective testing new technologies ….. maybe even the fastest man in the world. Im not a fan of Armstrong but its everywhere. big up to the honest sports professionals that come 4th …5th and nobody knows them…

Why aren’t we trying to have our current crop of Irish cyclists emulate or copy the training methods of Stephen Roche who, in one season, won the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta d’Espana – and he did all this totally drug free against a peleton that now appears to have been doped to the eyeballs. Surely he has some invaluable advice to give re the secrets to clean success?
