LIVERPOOL WANT TO sign Manchester City defender Kolo Toure, according to a number of reports.

With Jamie Carragher retiring from football last weekend, Brendan Rodgers needs to add some experience at the back and looks likely to make the Ivorian international his first signing of the summer.

32-year-old Toure made 19 appearances for City this season but wasn’t seen as first choice and is out of contract in the summer meaning he would be available on a free transfer.

Schalke’s Kyriakos Papadopolous and Swansea captain Ashley Williams are also believed to be targets.
