Kilkenny 1-21
Laois 0-16
KILKENNY BOOKED THEIR place in the Leinster minor hurling final against Dublin on 6 July with an eight-point win over Laois this evening in O’Moore Park.
The victory at the Portlaoise venue gives Kilkenny a chance to avenge the defeat they suffered by 11 points earlier this season against Dublin.
Alan Murphy’s excellent free-taking helped Kilkenny go 0-6 to 0-3 clear by the 10th minute.
They were 0-13 to 0-9 clear at the interval with Murphy and Sean Morrissey impressing in the scoring stakes.
Mark Kavanagh kept Laois in touch while Aaron Dunphy and Robbie Phelan also got on the mark for the home side.
Laois cut the gap to two points early in the second-half, 0-13 to 0-11, before Murphy pounced for the only goal of the game. It was a crucial strike and Kilkenny went on from there to run out victors by eight points.
