Shefflin v Hogan or Walsh and Joyce v Power after Kilkenny senior hurling quarter-final draw

Reigning champions Clara are going to face 2010 kingpins O’Loughlin Gaels.

SEVERAL OF KILKENNY’S senior stars will be going head to head after the quarter-final draw was made for the county senior hurling championship on Noreside tonight.

Reigning champions Clara – the club of Kilkenny captain Lester Ryan – will go up against 2010 champions O’Loughlin Gaels, who can call on Brian Hogan.

Henry Shefflin, Michael and Colin Fennelly, and TJ Reid will play for Ballyhale Shamrocks against either Richie Hogan and Paul Murphy’s Danesfort or Tommy and Padraig Walsh’s Tullaroan. Danesfort and Tullaroan finished level last weekend and will replay next weekend.

Kieran Joyce’s Rower-Inistioge will take on Carrickshock, who have Richie and John Power at their disposal. The final quarter-final sees Cillian Buckley’s Dicksboro go up against St Martin’s.

Three of the quarter-finals will take place next weekend but Ballyhale Shamrocks will have to wait to discover the identity of their last eight opponents.
