London's Kilburn Gaels stun Kilkenny champions to book All-Ireland semi spot

Meanwhile, Bennettsbridge were crowned Leinster junior hurling champions against Shamrocks in Tullamore.

KILBURN GAELS SHOCKED Leinster champions Mullinavat to book their place in the All-Ireland intermediate hurling semi-finals.

The Londoners weathered a late rally by the Kilkenny men to win by 1-10 to 1-8 in Ruislip and set up a date against Galway’s Cappataggle.

There was much better news for another Kilkenny side as Bennettsbridge romped to victory in a one-sided Leinster junior hurling final in Tullamore.

Brian Lannon scored the only goal in a 1-20 to 0-3 win over Shamrocks of Offaly — a 20-point hammering.

They play Annaghdown of Galway next.

“It was disappointing today to be beaten by so much but that was a very good Bennettsbridge team,” Shamrocks manager Alo Lawlor told Midlands Sport.

“They’ll be back up hurling senior after next year in Kilkenny. They’ll win the intermediate championship down there I’d imagine.”
