Stacks to face West Kerry after quarter-final draw for the 2014 Kerry senior football championship

With reigning champions Dr Crokes out of the reckoning, the championship is an open affair.

THE DRAW HAS been made this afternoon for the quarter-finals of the 2014 Kerry senior football championship.

With Dr Crokes, the champions for the last four years, having been knocked out, this year’s title race is regarded as an open affair.

Legion, who defeated Dr Crokes last time out, will take on 2012 finalists Dingle in a match that will pit Kerry attackers James O’Donoghue and Paul Geaney in opposition to each other.

Shannon Rangers will take on 2009 kingpins South Kerry, who can call upon the likes of Declan O’Sullivan, Killian Young and Bryan Sheehan.

Marc Ó Sé will be in action for a West Kerry side that will battle against Kieran Donaghy’s club Austin Stacks.

Finally Mid Kerry, who have Darran O’Sullivan and Donnchadh Walsh in their ranks, will face Laune Rangers.

The games will be played at neutral venues. The fixture dates will depend on Kerry’s progress in the All-Ireland senior football series but will take place no later than October 5th.
