It was another extremely busy Gaelic Football schedule in Croke Park today and first up was the All-Ireland minor football quarter-final as Connacht champions Roscommon take on Kerry.

11.56 – Welcome to a very wet Croke Park for the first game of today’s Gaelic Football action as Kerry face Roscommon in the All-Ireland MFC quarter-final. Here’s the Kerry team.

12.02 – Kerry 0-1 Roscommon 0-0: 3 mins – Huge early drama. Kerry move into an early lead courtesy of a Jack Savage free but Roscommon come close to a goal twice. Firstly Enda Smith’s shot is brilliantly blocked on the line by Ronan Murphy and then a close-range effort by Michael Gunning smacks against the bar.
12.04 – Kerry 0-2 Roscommon 0-1: 5 mins – He was hugely impressive in their Munster final defeat against Tipperary and Kerry’s Niall Sheehy has shown up well early on again here. He’s just registered a brilliant point off his right to put Kerry two ahead. But Roscommon respond quickly with Enda Smith charging through and punting over a point.
12.05 – Kerry 0-2 Roscommon 0-2: 6 mins – Now the teams are level courtesy of a stylish point by Roscommon captain and full-forward Kevin Finn.
12.09 – Roscommon 0-2 Kerry 0-2: 10 mins – Roscommon have been threatening a goal and they’ve just missed a golden chance to raise a green flag. Diarmuid Murtagh won a penalty after cutting in from the left wing before being fouled. He took the kick himself but his low shot was blocked by the legs of Kerry net minder Gavin Curran. Roscommon could rue these early misses.
12.15 – Roscommon have wasted several good pointscoring opportunities here and at the close of the first quarter, the teams are still level despite the Connacht champions having dominated.
12.17 – Kerry 0-3 Roscommon 0-2: 18 mins – And Kerry move into the lead with Niall Sheehy converting a free after he was fouled himself when breaking forward.
12.18 – Kerry 0-3 Roscommon 0-3: 19 mins – Roscommon quickly draw level through a fisted point by centre-forward Enda Smith who has impressed so far.
12.20 – Kerry 0-4 Roscommon 0-3: 21 mins – Wing-forward Cillian Fitzgerald gets on the end of a good Kerry team move and taps over a point off his left.
12.24 – A change for Roscommon as defender Denis Barron is forced off after sustaining an injury and Liam Kilcline comes on in his place.
12.26 – Kerry 0-4 Roscommon 0-4: 27 mins – The conditions are difficult and the shooting on both sides has been suspect but there’s plenty effort on show. Roscommon are rewarded for their attacks with a point from Diarmuid Murtagh that ties the match.
12.28 – Roscommon 0-5 Kerry 0-4: 28 mins – And now St Faithleach’s clubman Diarmuid Murtagh has nudged Roscommon ahead with a brilliant score under pressure.
12.29 – Roscommon 0-5 Kerry 0-5: 30 mins – Neither side is going to get too far ahead in this game it seems with Cillian Fitzgerald hitting the point for Kerry that leaves it all square again.
12.33 – HALF-TIME: Kerry 1-5 Roscommon 0-5: A superb conclusion to the half for Kerry as they register the first goal of the match. David Foran seizes the ball when it comes down off the upright, feeds wing-back Brian Crowley who is up in support and he unleashes a fierce low drive to the net. Kerry ahead by three points at the break then, we’ll be back shortly with the second-half action.
12.43 – And the second-half is underway here with Kerry playing into the Hill 16 end in the first-half. Early scoring chance for them but Darragh Carmody’s effort drifts wide.
12.45 – Kerry 1-5 Roscommon 0-6: 33 mins – Diarmuid Murtagh cuts the gap with a pointed free for Roscommon after wing-back Ronan Daly was fouled when sprinting through.
12.47 – Kerry 1-5 Roscommon 0-7: 34 mins – Now the margin is down to one courtesy of Roscommon’s Ruaidhri McManus who curls over a free from the left wing.
12.50 – Kerry 1-5 Roscommon 0-8: 37 mins – Full-forward Kevin Finn fires over a lovely point for Roscommon to tie the match. They’ve started the second-half brightly and corrected the poor shooting that marred some of their first-half play.
12.54 – Great goal chance for Kerry after a flowing team move cuts open the Roscommon defence but Conor Keane’s powerful shot is brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Shane Mannion.
12.56 – Kerry 1-6 Roscommon 0-8: 44 mins – Kerry edge into a slender one-point advantage when Niall Sheehy pops over a point after good work by Conor Keane.
12.59 – Kerry have brought on Sean Moloney at corner-forward for Darragh Carmody in their first change of the game. Jack Savage has just spurned the chance from a free to put them two points ahead.
13.01 – Another missed free for Kerry, this time for Niall Sheehy. Just one point in it and there’s 12 minutes left.
13.04 – Roscommon substitute Brian Fannon is on for Niall McInerney in their defence.
13.06 – Kerry 1-7 Roscommon 0-9: 53 mins – Diarmuid Murtagh fires over the free that ties the match for Roscommon but then Jack Savage kicks Kerry back into the lead. Substitutions see Roscommon’s Dara Feely replace Kevin Finn while Kerry’s Gary O’Sullivan replaces Jack Barry.
13.09 – And Kerry have been reduced to fourteen men with full-forward Niall Sheehy having being sent-off for a second yellow card. Four minutes remaining.
13.12 – Kerry 1-9 Roscommon 0-9: 58 mins – But now Roscommon have been reduced to 14 men with Philip Neil sent-off and Jack Savage has kicked two points from frees to send Kerry into a three-point advantage.
13.13 – Kerry 1-9 Roscommon 0-10: 60 mins – Thomas Corcoran knocks over a free for Roscommon to cut the gap to two points. We’re entering injury-time.
13.14 – Kerry 1-9 Roscommon 0-11: 61 mins – Corcoran repeats the feat with another pointed free for Roscommon.
13.16 – FULL-TIME: Kerry 1-9 Roscommon 0-11: Kerry hold on dramatically for the victory with Roscommon having one last chance to tie the game only for Enda Smith’s point attempt to tail wide. Despite having lost twice in this season’s championship, Kerry are now in an All-Ireland semi-final where they will face either Dublin or Monaghan on September 1st.
