Keep on keepin' on: O'Neill says he's not retiring yet

The Clan na Gael clubman has told Mickey Harte that he has no intention of hanging up his boots.

TYRONE FOOTBALL MAY be on the brink of a new era, but at least one old hand is anxious to stick around.

GAA.ie reports that All-Star forward Stephen O’Neill, 30, has informed Mickey Harte that he has no intention of hanging up his boots just yet and will be available for next year’s league and Championship campaigns.

With seven key players aged 30 or over in their squad, Tyrone’s recent defeat against Dublin prompted speculation that there would be a flurry of retirements.

The panel’s other veterans — Brian Dooher (35), Ryan McMenamin (33), Brian McGuigan (31), Philip Jordan (31), Owen Mulligan (30) and Conor Gormley (30) — are yet to make a decision on their future.
