IT’S SAFE TO say Roy Keane was not amused by Chelsea’s pre-match antics tonight.
In the warm-up before their FA Cup tie against Birmingham, players were seen flicking each other’s ears, and Keane expressed his disapproval of their behaviour, in light of the recent circumstances surrounding the club:
Speaking as a pundit for ITV, he said:
“They’ve let their manager down. So childish … it’s crazy. All that carry-on is ridiculous.
“They shouldn’t be smiling. They should be focused on trying to win a game of football … I keep going on about pride … they’ve let their manager down badly, and yet they’re carrying on like that in the warm-up flicking each other’s ears … absolute disgrace.
“They should be professional and focus on the game tonight.”
Chelsea subsequently beat Birmingham 2-0 to advance to the quarter finals of the FA Cup, with goals from Juan Mata and Raul Meireles.
