MANCHESTER UNITED MIDFIELDER Shinji Kagawa is disappointed with his first season at Old Trafford.
The Japan international has made 24 appearances in all competitions this campaign, helping United to win back the Premier League title in the process. But the 24-year-old, who joined from Borussia Dortmund in June 2012 before being beset with injury problems, is dissatisfied with the role he has played.
“I was looking to produce even more results,” said Kagawa, who did manage to score a hat-trick against Norwich City in March. “I was injured and I felt things didn’t go well easily. I had a lot of conflict, frustration and worries. In that sense it has been a profound year.
“Honestly I haven’t contributed as much as I did at Dortmund. I still don’t quite have that feeling of accomplishment. But I’ve managed to win three [titles] in a row. I think my career is bound to get better and better.”
Looks a very classy player, in the mould of Iniesta, though obviously not as good. Showed glimpses of what he can do this season, even missing 2 months through injury! Next season will tell more about him, but there’s no doubting his ability.
I agree with you David, has abundance of talent and did show flashes of it towards the end of the season… Playing wide left for some of the campaign did not help him either, but I still believe he’ll come good, his hat trick was a very good sign of the player he could be, the way he skilfully took those chances….
If Rooney is off, Kagawa will play central off
Doh!! Should see the best off him then
Could win the champions league this saturday if he stayed at Dortmond
If his auntie had a dick she’d be his uncle..
Said he came to united to win a champions league?? Dortmund in the final this weekend….epic fail!!
Epic fail how? :-)
Enjoy ur fried dog Saturday night Shinji while ur former teammates pick up the European Cup!!
