WALES HAVE BEEN hit with an injury setback ahead of the Six Nations, which kicks off a month from today.
Scarlets prop Rhodri Jones is in danger of missing the campaign, after his club revealed today that he dislocated his shoulder during their Guinness Pro12 win over the Ospreys last Saturday.
Jones is due to see a specialist today but a considerable spell on the sidelines looks likely for the player, who has been capped 13 times and featured in three of Wales’ four November tests.
Meanwhile, Jones’ front-row colleague at the Scarlets, Kirby Myhill, has suffered a suspected pectoral muscle tear.
“Scarlets can confirm that tighthead prop Rhodri Jones sustained a dislocated right shoulder, which was relocated while on the field, and was sent for preliminary imaging on Saturday evening,” a Scarlets statement said.
“Both Jones and Myhill will meet with consultant specialists today (Tuesday) to discuss the prognosis and to put a rehabilitation plan in place.”
The Six Nations Championship for 2015 will begin on the evening of Friday, 6 February, when Wales take on England at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.
