JOHN O’SHEA HAS responded to comments in Roy Keane’s latest autobiography, which suggested the defender had dizzy spells from being turned inside out by Cristiano Ronaldo during a pre-season game.
Keane joked that O’Shea had inadvertently sealed the then-Sporting Lisbon player’s move to United by playing like a “f**king clown” against him.
However, in an interview with Talksport, O’Shea said: “It’s fair to say there are exaggerations in people’s autobiographies from time to time.
“He did give me a roasting, and there was a bit of jet lag, but there were no dizzy spells.
“I think everyone should be happy he came to United a year earlier because of it,” he laughed.
Meanwhile, O’Shea admitted Ireland’s performance against Germany wasn’t easy on the eye.
“We were hoping if we could keep it 0-0, the crowd might get a bit frustrated towards the end of the game.
“In the first half, we would have liked to have kept possession a bit better and created a few more counter-attacking chances, but Germany do have fantastic players, so we had to accept that.
“The midfield lads worked very well and David Forde wasn’t too busy, but he had to make a couple of fantastic saves in the second half.”
