HERE’S ONE FROM the archives, dated 1 April 1968.

A fresh-faced John Giles, aged 27, shuffles around some papers while “hard at work in the offices of United Insurance Brokers, the insurance company of which he is a partner” — or so says the caption anyway.

It’s good to remember that Gilesy wasn’t always 70. What a man.
