ALL-IRELAND WINNING managers John Allen and John O’Mahony are set to assume advisory roles with Carlow GAA next season.
Allen, who steered Cork to the 2005 All-Ireland senior hurling crown and Limerick to the Munster title last year, is set to be an advisor to new Carlow senior hurling boss Pat English. Ballinkillen club member English has been in charge of the Carlow U21 hurlers for the last two years and takes over from John Meyler, who stepped down last June.
O’Mahony, who guided Galway to All-Ireland senior football triumphs in 1998 and 2001, will be an advisor for new Carlow senior football manager Turlough O’Brien. Éire Óg club man O’Brien was the coach this year when Anthony Rainbow was the manager of the Carlow senior team.
O’Brien has previously guided his club to Carlow senior titles and also been at the helm of county minor and U21 teams.
