THE KILKENNY RETIREMENT season has continued this morning with JJ Delaney bowing out after a stellar hurling career with the Cats.
Delaney leaves while still in his prime after starting on this yearโs All-Ireland winning side and claiming an Allstar award.
The Kilkenny hurling royalty has been wading in today to salute him.

And thereโs plenty Gaelic footballers who were fans of Delaney as well judging by these tweets.
Great praise for a great hurler
One of the best Iโve ever seen
He has got a left arm like Popeye in the main picture.
At this rate Kerry could do the double!
No disrespect to Kerry hurling but jaysus the GAA will have to drop their ticket prices now with that many great hurlers gone and probably one or two more to come.
Some legends of the sports have retired in the past month โฆ. They must have close to 50 all star awards between them
Massive amount of successful players David. In last 15 days Tommy Walsh, David Herity, Brian Hogan, Aidan Fogarty, John OโBrien, Eoin Kelly, Stephen Hiney and JJ Delaney have all retired. Between them they won 52 provincial senior medals, 42 All-Ireland senior and 24 Allstars.
Sean og??
Was just referring to players who retired from intercounty recently.
My bad fintan
No worries Damien.
