JIMMY BARRY-MURPHY will hold talks with Cork county board officials before deciding on his future plans with the Rebels.
Barry-Murphy’s three-year term as Cork manager concluded after yesterday’s championship exit at the hands of Tipperary.
He admitted that he is unsure as to whether he will be back in charge for the 2015 season.
“I’m not sure. I’ll have to talk to the county board to see what they want to do. I’ll have to reflect on it to be honest and talk to the county board to see what they want to do.”
Barry-Murphy had no complaints about the outcome of yesterday’s game.
“I just think on the day we were comprehensively outplayed in many positions on the field. I think when you’re playing a team of Tipperary’s quality, you can’t hope to win the game in that situation really.
“I felt coming into the game we were in good shape. We’d trained very, very well. The Munster final victory we felt it would be great for confidence and we’d build on that.
“Ten wides in the first half was shocking. It was very, very poor at times. A lot of our players were comprehensively outplayed on the day. Physicality seemed to be a problem for us as well.
“They were much stronger on the ball, they seemed to harass us as well. When the ball is coming in to your defence as readily as it was, you’re always going to concede and that was the problem.”
