THREE SPECTATORS DIED and another six were injured after two high speed crashes at the Jim Clark Rally in Scotland on Saturday.

Police confirmed that two men and a woman were pronounced dead on the scene after a rally car came off the road just outside Little Swinton. Another man, who was struck by the car, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and is reported to be in a critical condition.

The incident took place at 4pm, two hours after another off-road crash near Crosshall Farm. Five people [one woman, four men] were hit by the car. Two of the men were taken to Borders General Hospital while a third was transported to Edinburgh soon after. The remaining man and woman were treated for minor injuries.
