JAMIE CLARKE INSPIRED Armagh to a 0-19 to 2-10 victory over Meath in the Allianz National Football League.

The star hit an impressive 0-11 as his side produced a late comeback, after Meath led for much of the second half.

The victory was all the more impressive for Paul Grimley’s side, after they were forced to make several changes in the lead up to the game due to a number of players being out injured.

Meath established an early 1-4 to 0-2 lead, as Philip McEvoy could not prevent a Michael Newman shot finding the net..

Newman then scored another goal to give his side a five-point lead, before Clarke proved the inspiration behind an impressive Armagh comeback.

Three Clarke points in succession, in addition to one from Stephen Harold, meant the Ulster side trailed by just one point, with the score 2-5 to 0-10 at half-time.

Clarke then scored seven of Armagh’s nine second-half points, as the hosts wilted late on, enabling Grimley’s men to claim a hard-earned win.
