Australia buzzing as teen sprinter clocks faster time than young Usain Bolt

James Gallaugher is one fast kid…

JAMES GALLAUGHER — REMEMBER the name.

The 13-year-old sprinter has Australia buzzing after he set a world best time for his age group last weekend.

Gallaugher ran 200m in a blistering 21.73 — 0.08 seconds faster than six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt at the age of 14.

Last year the youngster made headlines when this video of him scorching through the final leg of a 4x100m relay spread online.

“We don’t want to put too much pressure on a 13-year-old,” said national junior high performance manager Sara Mulkearns told the Courier Mail this week.

“He’s in good hands and will definitely be a part of our junior programs.

“But he is pretty exciting.”
