Making The Move

Former Kerry boss Jack O'Connor's sons transfer to Kildare outfit Moorefield

The pair have switched from South Kerry outfit St Michael’s-Foilmore.

THE SONS OF former Kerry football boss Jack O’Connor are set to line out for reigning Kildare senior champions Moorefield this year.

The transfer of Cian and Eanna O’Connor to the Lilywhites club was officially approved on Monday, it has been revealed on the transfer section on the GAA’s official website.

Both players are working in the county and have moved from South Kerry club St Michael’s-Foilmore to the Newbridge based club who reached the semi-final stage in last year’s AIB Leinster club SFC.

Eanna has featured at minor and U21 level for Kerry as well as winning a Hogan Cup medal with Coláiste na Sceilge in 2009. Cian was a member of the UCC team that won the Sigerson Cup in 2011 and was part of the St Michael’s-Foilmore side that won the 2009 All-Ireland intermediate club title.

It remains to be seen if either of the duo will earn a call-up to Jason Ryan’s Kildare senior squad. Currently Moorefield players Adam Tyrrell, Daryl Flynn, David Whyte and Kevin Murnaghan are involved with the Kildare senior setup.
