Lucky 13 - Wexford's Jack Guiney talks Breaking Bad, Mila Kunis and playing rugby

Guiney lines out for Wexford tonight against Dublin in the Bord Gáis Energy Leinster U21 hurling final.

HE’S ONE OF the brightest prospects in Wexford hurling.

He’ll be part of the senior squad that takes on Clare in next Saturday’s All-Ireland hurling qualifier replay.

Tonight he’ll be involved in the Bord Gáis Energy Leinster U21 hurling final as Wexford take on Dublin.

But we wanted to know other stuff about the Wexford hurler.

Like his hurling hero growing up.

13.What’s your favourite sport other than hurling?

“Rugby. I’ve played since U8′s and absolutely love it. There’s a big rugby tradition in the family, the grandad would have have been capped for Munster and Ireland. I haven’t played since I made the Wexford panel.”

12. Who’s the most entertaining person you follow on Twitter?

“I’m a rookie when it comes to twitter I only set up a page recently and I’m still finding my feet.”

11. Do you have any pre-match superstitions?

“No rituals as such. I’m fairly laid back – maybe too laid back at times – so I wouldn’t worry a whole lot about anything in particular.”

10. What was the last film you saw?

“Friends With Benefits was on the other night. A real chick flick. I think I’m in love with Mila Kunis.”

9. What TV programme do you always Sky Plus?

“Any of the sports shows but outside of that Top Gear or Breaking Bad.”

8. What star from other sports do you most admire?

“Johnny Wilkinson after his display in the Heineken Cup final but I watched a documentary on Maradona recently and the man was sent by the Gods.”

7. What’s the most memorable game you’ve played for your club?

“A minor county final which we won with my late friend Jimmy Holohan Jnr our captain on the day.”

6. What’s the most memorable game you’ve played for your county?

“Leinster final win last year in the Bord Gáis Energy U21 championship against Kilkenny.”

5. What’s your favourite app on your smartphone?

“For sport TheScore.ie and iTube is a great app for music.”

4. Name the sporting event you’d most like to attend in the world?

“A rugby World Cup final.”

3. What was the first inter-county senior game you ever went to?

“I’d have to ask the mother, I think I was dragged to them all as a toddler.”

2. If you could have dinner with any three celebrities alive or dead, who would they be?

“Mila Kunis, Amber Heard and Vince Vaughn for the craic and as a wing man in case the girls wouldn’t share.”

1. Who was your hurling hero growing up?

“Wexford’s Darragh Ryan.”
