IT DOESN’T GET much better than this for a debutant. Jack Conan of Old Belvedere RFC has driven his way over for a try on his Leinster debut in Cardiff. Just four minutes into the eastern province’s Pro12 clash with the Blues, the ball bobbled up invitingly and the powerful No. 8 managed to squeeze his way over.

With Jimmy Gopperth converting the try, and then tacking on the extra two points after Richardt Strauss crossed the whitewash in the 18th minute, Leinster were 14-0 up with just a quarter of the game gone.

However, the Blues have bounced back in an entertaining game and it’s 17-12 to Leinster at half time.
