It's official: Rory McIlroy single-handedly destroyed Caroline Wozniacki's tennis career

One half of Wozilroy exited Wimbledon early.

CAROLINE WOZNIACKI JUST got bounced in the first round of Wimbledon, losing 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 to Austrian Tamira Paszek.

Sheโ€™s now in an utter tailspin, and once again everyone (meaning us) is asking the same uncomfortable question: Did Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki ruin each otherโ€™s careers?

Hereโ€™s an updated version of the chart we ran last month, with the green line representing the exact date (18.7.2011) when Wozzilroy went public:

As you can see, Wozniacki has completely collapsed. She won five tournaments in the six months before she dated Rory, but sheโ€™s only won one in the 11 months since.

She has failed to make the quarter-finals in 10 of her last 18 tournaments. Before Rory, she missed the quarters in five of 13 tournaments.

She hasnโ€™t won anything since last August, and now sheโ€™s in the middle of the worst stretch of her career.

So itโ€™s official, itโ€™s all Roryโ€™s fault.*

*Or, she was overhyped when she burst onto the scene and was never really meant to be the superstar we all thought sheโ€™d be.

Woz needs to be carefull she doesโ€™nt slip further down the rankings or sheโ€™ll be joining Holly Sweeney on McElroyโ€™s scrapheap of dumped girlfriends. An early McElroy exit from the Irish Open might even things up.

It goes to show love and success do not go hand in hand,if both are successful in their own right.
I cannot think of 1 couple where both are a success.
I mean, look at Becks and posh!
