Premier League
Rory Delap & Glenn Whelan (Stoke City 3-1 Blackburn Rovers) Delap is normally the creator of Stoke’s headed goals rather than the scorer but he put Pulis’s Potters one up in the 28th minute with a lovely flicked header from Jermaine Pennant’s cross. Whelan doubled Stoke’s advantage after the break, his piledriver taking two deflections before wrongfooting Paul Robinson.
Npower Championship
Richard Keogh (Brighton 2-1 Coventry City) Former Irish U21 Richard Keogh was in the wrong place at the wrong time, deflecting the ball into his own net after Joe Murphy had made a fine save from Craig Mackail-Smith just seven minutes in.
Joe Mason (Cardiff City 1-0 Nottingham Forest) Mason came off the bench to grab his third goal of the season, heading home Peter Whittingham’s cross in the 70th minute.
Noel Hunt (Ipswich Town 2-3 Reading) On a week when he declared his ambition to make Ireland’s squad for Euro 2012, Hunt capped a remarkable fightback by firing home Reading’s winner three minutes into stoppage time. Earlier, Ipswich’s on-loan striker Daryl Murphy headed Paul Jewell’s side into the lead in the 55th minute.
Scottish Premier League
Darren Randolph (Motherwell 0-0 Dundee United) Randolph continued his miserly form in the Motherwell goal, keeping out Dundee United to record his eighth clean sheet of the season.
Richie Towell (St Johnstone 3-1 Hibernian) With new boss Pat Fenlon watching on from the stands, Richie Towell gave Hibs an early lead at McDiarmaid Park only to see St Johnstone bounce back to win 3-1.
