ANYBODY WATCHING IRELAND’S final Six Nations game against Italy had the misfortune to hear what must be one of the worst versions of Ireland’s Call ever played. Mind games? Or were the Italian band just holding the music upside down?
We have a national anthem play it not that abomination of that Ireland’s call.
If somebody has an issue with the anthem they don’t make themselves available for selection .
It’s such a heart breaking game and to see BOD getting the bin for stamping is just terrible. What a role model he is, he should hang the boots up today and give someone else a chance.
The Irish Band in Lansdowne last year only played half of Italy’s anthem. The Italian Fans booed when the band stopped. Ireland’s call in Rome was old fashioned Italian revenge! Vito Corleone would have liked that!
National flag is also binned outside of Ireland, our Ulster cousins like it that way.

Amhran Na Bfhiain was played for over 80 years. It is played in other all Ireland sports.Irelands call is a sap to the Ulster “Blazers” in the IRFU by their committee cronies. Hopefully when the deadwood is eventually cleared out the true national anthem will be restored.
No Irelands call is played everywhere as the rugby anthem but Amhrán na bhFiann is only played in Ireland. Wouldn’t want to insult the northern Irish that play for Ireland.
