Ireland Women march into Dubai 7s semi-finals unbeaten

After opening with a draw, Ireland powered to convincing wins over Georgia, Wales and Kenya.

IRELAND’S WOMEN BOOKED their place in the Dubai World Sevens semi-finals after coming through their pool campaign unbeaten.

The Jenny Murphy-captained side topped Pool B with three wins and a draw and will now face Almaty in the last four of the international invitational section on Friday.

Ireland were held to a 12-12 draw against a Moscow Region side in their opening game but got a win on the board with a 48-0 trouncing of Georgia.

They followed that up with a 33-5 win over Wales and then beat the Kenya Lionesses 43-7 in their final game of the day.

The semi-final takes place at 10.58am Irish time, with the winner facing either Moscow Region or Tribe 7s in the decider (1.16pm).
