Ireland 2-18
Scotland 0-8
IRELAND HAVE TURNED around a nine point deficit from last weekend’s test to prevent Scotland from winning a first Hurling/Shinty test International Series since 2008.
Westmeath’s Eoin Price was the star of the show as he bagged 2-5 in a man of the match performance, outshining the likes of Tipperary’s ‘Bonner’ Maher and Cork’s Conor Lehane.
Ireland led by just a point after a half an hour, yet a late first half goal put them ahead 1-6 to 0-4 at the interval.
Ireland emerged from the dressing rooms with the bit between their teeth though as Eoin Price’s two goals insured a 16 point win.
Their winning margin resulted in an overall 38-31 aggregate win, and in the hybrid competition’s 11th official year in existence the trophy remains in Irish hands.
