VIDEO: Relive Ireland's pulsating win over the Welsh

Revenge is a dish best served eventually.

THERE WERE SOME unkind words written about the value of the Six Nations, by rugby scribes, before the tournament kicked off.

They argued that the Heineken Cup had surpassed the international fixtures for intensity, passion and skill and was now the premier competition in the Northern Hemisphere.

Try telling that to the Irish and Welsh players, who threw every ounce of their bodies into yesterday’s Six Nations opener at the Millennium Stadium.

Speaking after the game, which Ireland won 30-22, Declan Kidney said, “Fellas didn’t care about themselves out there, they just put themselves on the line.”

Six tries, two yellow cards, a Brian O’Driscoll masterclass and that flick from Simon Zebo. Relive it all now with the match highlights:

Brian O’Driscoll gave yet another masterclass yesterday, we are so privileged that he is playing during our lifetime. He will be on best ever rugby team selections a hundred years from now, even a thousand years from now.

Total commitment from both teams. BOD was incredible. He played as both centre and wing forward. Would love to see if any Premier soccer player could survive 5 minutes!

Why compare it Michael? Why not focus on the game. Of course a Premiership footballer would be out of place, they’ve been conditioned to play a different game

Brill performance by Ireland. The future of Irish rugby looks good esp with the likes of Zebo and Gilroy. Zebo’s back flick would put any Priemership player to shame
