IRELAND WILL USE four different training bases during the pool stages of next year’s Rugby World Cup.
Joe Schmidt’s side will be based at Celtic Manor in Newport, the host venue of the 2010 Ryder Cup, and the FA’s centre of excellence at St George’s Park.
They will also use Surrey Sports Park and the Sport Wales National Centre.
Ireland open their campaign against Canada at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 19 September.
Their other Pool D fixtures see them face Romania in Wembley Stadium and Italy in the Olympic Stadium before returning to the Millennium Stadium for the final game against France.
Team manager Mick Kearney said: “The Ireland Team Management are delighted that during RWC15 the Ireland team will be based at these four locations for the pool stages of the tournament.
Team bases play a vital role in team preparation and it is important that the facilities are of a world class standard while also providing a positive atmosphere for the players and management in between training and team activities.
A total of 41 bases across England and Wales will be used by the 20 nations competing at the Rugby World Cup.
“Rugby is at the heart of all our planning and we have worked closely with the teams to ensure that they have access to the best facilities and a team base that meets their individual needs,” England Rugby 2015 CEO Debbie Jevans said.
