Spot the difference: This is Ireland's new rugby jersey

Don’t all rush out to buy it at once, okay?

PUMA’S DEAL WITH the IRFU may be in its final 12 months, but that hasn’t stopped them from making some minor tweaks to the existing kit and unleashing an all new jersey on the public in time for the Joe Schmidt era.

Here’s the new jersey, adorned by some nifty patterns (presumably for optimum pec support) and the four provincial crests to be pressed against the back of your neck.

Here’s the old one, just in case you didn’t notice the subtle change back to regular green.

If you like the old one better, it’s currently available at half price, so get it while you still can.

What do you think of the new one?

The difference is about €30 and a lot of stock left sitting on the shop floor. That said, I like it.

Under Armour to supply the next one?

It looks good, don’t think many will buy with another one coming out in 12 months

Most companies change the kit completely, they just changed the grip on the chest

the lighter shade of green is much nicer, different Ireland teams should use the emerald green only, like aer lingus

Optimum pec support? Looks like a bra for a set of double Gs!

These new jerseys are not friendly to the larger fan. Like trying to fit a Zeppelin into a condom :-D

It looks like a roll back to the 2009/11 jersey without the white collar, nice touch to add the four provinces flags behind the neck though

Love the lighter shade of green. I’d like to get back to the old 2004 days with the light green Jersey, simply as we seemed to do better more consistently back then. Also glad they dropped the horrendous side button collar, honestly, what was that about?

The IRFU should change the badge to just a big shamrock like england have with the rose or panathikos with their shamrock, old skool is so much nicer

Thanks for replying to my comment should’ve added in the link to my first comment, to retract from my first one I’m not a fan of the multi coloured stitched band behind the collar

Don’t really like it – the Puma logo and Ireland crest are so far apart from each other, they’re at the edges of the jersey – looks like a cross eyed jersey.
